Who We Are
We're adapting the UK's food agriculture industry to mitigate the pressures on the 5 spheres of our climate system.
Consultancy
We provide detailed climate change risk assessments that identify, quantify and prioritise the agricultural specific risks to your farm business and value chain. Examples of assistance include:
- Evaluation and implementation of new technology and changing agricultural practices to enhance yields and variety of crops.
- Innovative products and services to compensate for changing climates and the impact on current crops.
- Advice on ecosystem services and changes to subsidies.
- Changing products based on future climate-change impacted profitability, e.g. moving away from livestock farming, increase plant varieties to grow, or introducing agroforestry.
- Identifying opportunities to develop and sell carbon credits.
- Linking farmers with producers of cutting-edge products to improve soil health and integrity, water conservation, and increase yields.
Data
We continuously seek out and research the world’s most innovative technologies, and develop relationships with cutting-edge vendors to apply appropriate state-of-the-art methods to solve climate issues.
Using third-party partner data services, open-source data and analytical tools, and in-house customised, proprietary data analysis, our analysis includes:
- Risk from extreme weather events and disaster modeling in vital infrastructure.
- Projected changes in various agro-climatic factors for a range of future scenarios including the impact of these changes on farm business operations.
- Suitability of certain crops to future climates, including new opportunities to grow novel crops within a region or where current crops will become uneconomical to grow.
Education
Shaping the climate of tomorrow means influencing the minds of today.
We can provide a range of educational services to share our knowledge and implement our solutions effectively. This is not limited to training farm staff to use our tech or read data, but includes public speaking at industry, university, and government events, and schools. We aim to educate and protect students / stakeholders of today and develop the climate advocates of tomorrow.
Funding
We partner with funding sources, businesses, governments and universities in the UK that are knowledgeable about the specific issues in UK climate-impacted farming and UK agricultural improvements to refine our products and collaborate with leading-edge technologies.
There are incentives for UK farmers to create new businesses, support the UK’s Economic Market & Primary Exports, and to obtain various Green Grants. We link customers with available providers, so they do not have to seek funding on their own.
Bespoke Technology
Engineering &
Biofertilisers
Based on the changes to agricultural metrics that our tools forecast, we work with suppliers to engineer proprietary products such fertilisers and organic pesticides to adjust the farm soil and irrigation needs to adapt to climate change.
Forecasting
Climate Change
Climate Spheres UK has developed proprietary tools to use climate data normally employed in weather monitoring and forecasting to create short- and long-term analytics for small to medium size farms
